Oh Hello there 2015...

Haha, yes it's a bit late... but better late than never, right?!

I've been having one hell of a year so far! I finally moved back out of my parents house after spending 6 years stuck in a rut and living under their roof again. I am now in a very nice home I am renting from an old man who apparently built this house with his parents back in the mid 1950s.

My daughter's father is back in our lives full force and has been the most wonderful significant other. He is currently looking for work, but in the meantime has really stepped up as one hell of a stay at home dad. He cooks, does dishes, laundry, mows the lawn, and generally takes care of the house like a bad ass. On top of that he picks our kids up early from daycare so that I can finish closing down without the hassle of them being there, and so that they can have extra time at home to play with their own toys they don't have to share. Some might say well if he doesn't work then why do they go? Well they love the social interaction of playing with their friends and going to 'school' during the week. I think it's good for us all.

I have gone from back to working 2 jobs in January and then back again to solely at the daycare this June. They promised to keep me at 40 hours, full time, no matter what. When my class starts back to school this fall they are going to find work for me by either cutting someone else's hours who has been slacking off or sending me to one of the other 2 centers to help as needed. In other work related news, I was just told I am being promoted to a new position they are creating just for me. I will be in charge of implementing a brand new curriculum that I get to create myself and it will be used at all 3 of our centers. I also am fully in charge of planning all field trips and other such events for all of our schoolers programs during summer breaks and school holidays. I start this job title officially on August 24th when everyone goes back to school. I will be allotted 5 hours per week to work solely on planning these things. I am even allowed to work from home and simply write down my hours to turn in to the boss. I am thrilled to be trusted with so much responsibility, although a bit nervous to be doing sooo much.

After a 10 year hiatus, I am also finally going back to school! I start classes on the same day my son begins 2nd grade. I am going to major in early childhood education. Like I said, this year has been pretty damn rad. :)

My boy turns 7 in just a couple of weeks and his baby sister will be 3 years old shortly afterwards. My kiddos are growing up so fast. I am super proud of how awesome they are turning out though.

With life as busy as it has been so far, I've put my weightloss journey on the backburner again. I want to find a way to continue making progress though because I know my health is important for not just my own kids, but the children I teach as well as my wonderful boyfriend, and most importantly myself!!

P90x3 is for me!

Yeah so blogging hasn't been a top priority lately with all the crazy going on in my life right now. I am doing good to make enough time to workout everyday though. lol. I am really loving P90x3 now that I finally have it here and am enjoying my daily dose of nutrition with shakeology. I swear its like I get to drink a chocolate milkshake every freakin day. lol. So far I'm down around 8 lbs and am starting my first transition week at the end of block 1. I can't wait to start the next block a week from today and see what else is in store for me in other workouts. I love that you get to do something different every single day.

Calorie counting has not happened... but i do feel like i am eating less and more conscious of portion sizes at least. I am still biking to and from both jobs everyday so I'm getting about 40 minutes/4 miles in every day and that definitely helps out. I have noticed on days when I have to catch a ride because its raining or something that I don't lose as much or just stay the same sometimes.

This morning after work I got off a little early and decided to take another route adding an extra mile and ten more minutes to my ride back home. Felt really great and achieved a new NSV. I hadn't gone down that way on my bike in almost a year but the last time I did it I had struggled to make it to the top of the hill and I think I even got off my bike and walked the last few steps to the top. This time I zoomed through it no problem and then climbed up the top steady on my bike the entire time without stopping. ^_^ I wonder how long I've had the ability to do that. lol. No question cycling daily has helped my endurance a ton!

I do hope to find more time to start blogging more regularly because I really do miss it, however I wont make myself any promises! lol. I have been posting random updates on my facebook though when I get a chance. Feel free to add my page - www.facebook.com/jensfitnessjourney if you haven't already.

Making 2014 all about me.

Happy New Year everyone! I know I've been mia for the last month or so but as I mentioned in my last post - working two jobs nearly everyday has me super busy as of late!

That being said, I'm going to start making more time for me. I deserve to have the things I want for myself and if I don't make them happen, no one else will. I'm going to find that little bit of time each day to workout and blog as much as possible about my daily ups and downs. Its what really worked for me in the past and nothing else has really gotten me very far between now and then. I did lose about 25 lbs last year but I'm nowhere near where I want to be yet. I just turned 28 and I want to make the most of the next couple years before I hit my 30s. I feel being at a healthy and happy weight is going to be a major influence on how I spend that time.

As of January 1st I finally decided that nothing was going to get in my way, including myself, so I put my money where my mouth is and became a Beach Body coach and signed myself up for the P90x3 challenge pack. I even paid extra to have it shipped as quick as possible. Hoping it makes it here in the next day or so. :)

In the mean time I have been upping my water intake, decreasing the sodas - diet or otherwise, not giving in to every temptation (admittedly in to more than I should have though), and remembering to think about everything I put in to my body. I also started the 30 day shred again on Wednesday with my 5lb dumbbells. Yesterday I only had a short time before work so I did 10 minutes of various weight exercises with my 10 lb dumbbells. I figured some workout was better than none and today I just finished doing another 30 day shred in between jobs. I'm about to have to head in to the 2nd one in a few minutes...

Over the next couple days, since I only work one of my jobs on the weekends, I'm going to do some more research in to what exactly it means now that I'm a BB coach(besides the discounted shakeology, YUM!), and also get logged back in to MFP and start tracking foods again.

I did take new pictures and measurements on the 1st but haven't had a chance to get themoff my camera yet. I'm sure I'll have those up tomorrow though.

Wish me luck guys, I hope you all find success and happiness in 2014 as well! <3 p="">
