New foods update!

Alright I finally have a chance to share some of the new foods I have been trying. A lot of these ideas have been coming from pinterest. Yes I have succumbed to the addiction that is pinning anything and everything. lol.

Before I get in to the food though I want to go ahead and share my weigh in for Fit Tuesday....

I'm shocked. It's exactly the same as 2 weeks ago. However last week I had gained 2.4 lbs so I'm pleased that I lost it now. I didn't eat as well as I wanted or work out as much as I would have liked but the workouts that I did do were pretty intense and I started incorporating using weights back in to my routines again so I'm gonna have to assume that is what helped me shed the pounds. I'm taking this as a positive and moving on to this coming week with my game face on. A couple more days and it'll be time for a monthly update with measurements, etc. Maybe I can drop a little bit more before then! :) Already worked out this morning but if I find the time I'm gonna try to squeeze another routine in later. I'm a little calorie heavy this morning but I'm about to look up ideas for the salmon I have so I can have a super light dinner tonight.

Anyways... I'm running short on time but here are just a few of the foods I've been trying lately. :) I wont say too much about each one since I'm in a hurry but feel free to comment asking questions if you are interesting in knowing how I prepared something.

What happened February?

So yeah it's obviously been a super busy month for me. I'm gonna try to sum things up so I don't just ramble on and on, so bear with me. lol.

- Aunt flow was in town the week after the last time I weighed in here. She had me eating more sweets than I ought to and so my weight reflected that. I did not gain but I  maintained exactly.

- The following week was when valentines day fell and I did not realize how much candy comes in your house when you have a child that is in school now. We still have a huge bag full of candy sitting around and I'm trying to offer it to people left and right because the longer it stays here the more I crave it. His valentines day party at school was also chock full of sweets and so I definitely indulged there. I ended up gaining 2.4 lbs by my next weigh in day. Along with the valentines party we also had a home meeting with his teachers and a few other doctor and dentist appointments so I had very little free time during the week to workout every day like I wanted. I did however find out that my local wic office is participating in a weight loss challenge and along with that they are offering free fitness classes! I joined the challenge and also have been attending all the classes. They are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4:45pm and I can bring my kids. I usually just bring Jett because he loves the interaction with the other children. Currently the class we are doing is Zumba. It's just a dvd workout so the same thing each time but its still fun and my first try with zumba. The more I go the more I get the moves down. Soon we will be moving on to Yoga, Walking with Resistance, and Line Dancing classes.

- This past week I have been super extra busy since Jett has now began his first soccer practices. They run from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My fiance found a job and started on Monday so I have been home alone with Bethany all day and found it rather hard to cope with. I've been taking care of everything else at home and haven't had time for myself. This had me feeling depressed and beginning to binge again. Wic fitness class stopped this week because they are in the process of moving to a new office. My son got silver crowns put in his teeth this week and so I spent pretty much all day Wednesday taking care of him and Bethany both since he was heavily sedated and not allowed to return to school until the next day.

-I sat down and had a talk with my fiance on Friday about all the stress I've been dealing with on what should be a good week for us and he helped me come up with some solutions to better manage my time at home. We got the baby her very own crib on Saturday and soon will be getting a monitor so that she can sleep peacefully in her warm room while I'm jumping around working out, etc in the other room far away from her. I've been looking up all sorts of new crockpot recipes to help me make dinner time easier, especially on days when I have the Wic fitness classes since they fall about the same time I'm supposed to have dinner ready for when my mom wakes up to get ready to go to work.

- I know I said that I was going to have plenty of time to update last Wednesday but as I mentioned that was the day Jett was at the dentist. I was unaware it was going to be an all day event and I assumed with him being home from school I wouldnt have to waste all that time driving around to pick him up or drop him off, etc. and wic classes had stopped. I suppose I underestimated how long things would take though. Oh well. Here it is Monday and things are finally feeling somewhat okay again. It's already the end of February though and I feel like I've barely accomplished anything this month. I'm going to try to put the bad behind me and just look forward to what is in store though. Now that my fiance has a job we can finally start saving up some money to get out of my parents house. Hopefully soon we will have our tax money back and can get our own vehicle once more. I have really been hoping to have my old/new body back by the time my little girl turns 1 year old and honestly it is still very possible, but even if it takes longer than that I need to realize that a step closer towards my goals is still something to be proud of no matter how small it is.

Tomorrow is weigh in day and I'm going to cross my fingers that I'm going back down instead of up although I havent had a good week of eating or working out so I know whatever the number is - its deserved. It's almost time for me to leave to get my son from school so I'm gonna get off of here for now but tomorrow I'm going to find the time to share all the new foods I've been trying theses past few weeks. :)

I promise I'm still alive and well...

There has just been a million and one things going on in my life right now. Mostly good things though so yay for that. I fully intended on updating several times before now and again intended to today but the second I had a chance to sit down in front of the computer I got a phone call and had to go and have been running around busy most of the rest of today. Tomorrow should allow me some free time to actually post though and explain myself a little better! Also, I have a ton of food pictures I wanna share and a few pics of the kids as well. Hope the rest of you are doing well. Big thanks to those who checked in on me - it means a lot!

Passed with flying colors!

I was completely ecstatic to see this number on my scale today.

I know, I need to find time to paint my toes again...

I had such a terrible previous week and so I was really hoping I could push through and make the most of this week. I not only knocked off the 2 lbs that I gained in week 4 but I lost well past that and have a total of 6.4 lbs down in the last week! I was praying to just see 239 at least but 236 is fantastic. I'm so happy to be out of the 240s finally. I have been wavering up and down in those numbers pretty much since I've had Bethany and it drove me nuts. Hopefully I never have to see them ever again! This puts my total weightloss this year so far at 11.4 lbs. I feel great with that number and am excited to keep on going towards goal. I worked out 3 times yesterday and am really proud of myself for that. I ended up doing 15 minutes on the elliptical after dinner last night. We had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic toast so even though I had done 2 different workout dvd's with friends that morning I thought I better not just sit around on my butt after eating a meal like that so close to bed time. So far today I have done a 20 minute Turbo Jam routine and am feeling pretty great still. On track calorie-wise and looking forward to having some catfish for dinner tonight. :)

A taste of Insanity

I'm feeling pretty amazing today. I ate alright yesterday and managed to get a workout in even after feeling super icky from that food poisoning or whatever it was this past weekend. Well today I feel so much better now and my eating is on track for the day so far.

I stopped by my friend Ashley's house this morning after dropping off Jett since its her day off and I brought over a workout dvd for us to do. Her friend was supposed to show up but didn't get there at the time she assumed she would be there so we went ahead and worked out. As soon as we finished her friend showed up and apparently it was exactly the same time she told me to show up (I arrived an hour early though) so Ashley just assumed her friend was gonna come early even though she told her a certain time. haha. Anyways they went ahead and started their workout which apparently was Insanity. I was trying to feed Bethany when they first started but she seemed to change her mind about being hungry so I sat down the bottle and went ahead and tried to keep up with them. I managed to get in about 25 minutes of the routine. They probably only did about 30-35 total. It was a 45 minute workout I think but they stopped early because Ashley was sore from the day before and tired from already working out with me and the other girl was out of breath the whole time and kept taking long breaks because she just went outside and smoked right before they put in the dvd. Seemed like a terrible idea to me but whatever.... lol.

I am proud of myself for working out twice in one morning. I may even find the time to workout again this afternoon or evening. I am looking forward to hitting the 230s by tomorrow's weigh in! I was pleasantly surprised with what I could do on the Insanity workouts though. Don't get me wrong - it was tough, but I had done a lot of those moves before in several other dvds. The only move that was new to me was the mummy kicks and those seemed easy enough to get the hang of. It was super intense though and hard to keep up at times but what I couldn't do now I modified of course. I hadn't tried Insanity before now though because I thought it was gonna be totally different from anything I've done before. I know p90x is still gonna be rough though so I wont be trying it anytime soon.

One month in...

It's the beginning of a new month and that means its time for new stats and pics. I have to apologize for not posting in the last week but I was quite a bit unhappy with some things going on in my life and definitely let that get to me physically as well. I didn't eat as well as I wanted on some days while others I did alright. I didn't really do much exercising at all except for maybe one actual workout and a heck of a lot of house cleaning on some other days.

I've been busy dealing with getting over sickness and sick kids and also dr's appointments for everyone. Ultimately though.. those are all just excuses. I could have done better but I didnt. I can't change that now and I can only look forward and change how I react in the now and future. This past Tuesday was week 4's weigh in and I didn't share here but I was up a couple pounds. Considering how terrible the 3 days prior to weigh in were I was thankful it wasn't more like 5 or 10. I was motivated to do well this week to make up for last but I let some emotions get the better of me and things didnt go as planned.

Today I forgot to weigh in first thing in the morning and by the time I had a chance to it was already like 5pm. I was fully expecting to be up above that 2lb gain but in fact I had lost those 2 lbs and am now back around to where I was at week 3. So hooray for that. I'm feeling great knowing that. Those darn 239's are calling my name! I am so close. lol. Sitting right at 240.6 lbs this evening. I'm hoping my evening weight isn't just a fluke and that I weigh more in the mornings for some weird reason... but whatever I'll take it. I stepped on the scale several times in disbelief.

I am mostly surprised by how many inches I've actually lost. I can't believ eI went down that much in my neck already and that I've lost at least something in most other areas too with just under 8 lbs gone. Crazy awesome... :)
