October is my favorite month!

Seriously... it's like the best weather you could ask for where I live. The leaves are all starting to change colors and fall to the ground. The wind is constantly blowing in your face. Pretty soon I'll be able to wear a light jacket! This weather excites me! Especially now that I've decided to become a runner. lol. It's nice to go jogging in the wind and not be soaked in sweat afterwards because the wind is cooling you off along the way. :)

I start week 4 of the couch to 5k plan today and boy am I hesitant to do that... 5 minutes straight jogging tonight! That doesn't sound like much... but it sure did feel like a lot at 3 minutes last week. lol.

Today has been great. Got to do some grocery shopping and stock up on all the things I love having around the house. Speaking of that.. I keep getting asked on facebook about making a grocery list to share with my friends so they can start figuring out what sort of healthier things to buy, too. I think sometime soon I will have to write all the things down that I like to have on hand now and maybe put it on its own little page or something for easy reference. What do you guys think about that? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kinds of things should be on that list? :) I'd love to hear! Especially from you new followers. I noticed Miss April mentioned me on her blog last night! And now I've got like 6 more followers today... Strange coincidence, or no? lol.

  1. I love October because it's getting warmer where I live, more sunshine, it rains then it's sunny so all the plants are growing. In Spring everything is full of hope and potential :-)
On my regular list hmm low fat laughing cow cheese on 26 calories per wedge and little sultana boxes, they are 2 of my stock standards.

  2. I love October too - I'm unsure about how I'm going to fare in central California without my usual changing of the seasons! Growing up in New England spoiled me, for sure.

  4. Congrats on making it this far on Couch to 5K!! Many many people drop it between week 4 and 5. YOu can do it!!! I know sometimes, I had to repeat a day before I moved on. OR, sometimes my last rep was a bit shorter or my rest period was a bit longer. BUT, you can do this!! Keep up the great work!

  5. D- what is a sultana box? I love laughing cow cheese though it's def on my list!

Mary - My best friend just moved to Cali in April so she's dealing with the same thing. She says she misses Texas but loves her boyfriend and his kid too much to come back here. lol. I want to live in New York at some point in my life though and see the seasons there!!

April - Thanks, cottage cheese is something I've always hated but its been a long time since I last tried it so I'll have to taste it again to be sure.

Deb - Thank You!!! I thought those 5 min jogs were going to kill me but I surprised myself. And I even had to take Jett with me tonight and push him around in the bike trailer/jogging stroller thing. My neighborhood is filled with huge hills up and down everywhere too so this has not been the easiest past few weeks, lol. But I am loving proving to myself each week than I can do new things I never thought possible before!

  6. It's really cool reading about your pre-5k training because I went throught alot of the same struggles. Just adding an extra minute seemed crazy before. I'm so happy that you are reaching your goals! One of the things I always have stocked around the house is lentils. They are one of the only beans that don't give me gas! I'm making this lentil burger recipe tonight. http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/eating/recipes/entrees/lentil_burgers.html

  10. The best season in England is definitely Autumn. Like you said, the trees change colour and the air gets a bit crispy which means time to wrap up warm and enjoy lots of hot chocolate! Yummy! hehe.

I think the list idea is a good one. Maybe you could get all your followers to recommend an item or two which they love buying.
